The Black Plague the Black Plague was one of the worst and deadliest diseases known to man in the history of the world. The Plague originated in Italy and quickly spread throughout Europe killing more than one hundred thirty seven million people.

Essay: The Black Death The Black Death was one of the most severe plagues in its time. I am going to talk about the Black Death, which is also known as The Black Plague and The Bubonic Plague. The main area I will cover is What the affects of the Black Plague was and how is spread.The Black Plague greatly improved the economic state of medieval Europe, giving rise to new opportunities which brought profound changes to its structure and society. The large number of deaths severely reduced the number of labour services that were available.The Black Plague killed as many as 25 million to 40 million people in Europe, perhaps a third of the total population at the time. As a consequence, the amount of labour services was drastically reduced, creating a desperate need among the nobles for someone to attend their fields.


By 1350, the survivors of the plague began to realize their nightmare was coming to an end. The immediate consequence of the Black Death was a massive reduction of the population; however, the plague also had many long term effects. Many of the scholarly people of the time died. This led to a decline in colleges and many were destroyed.Although plague exists in a wide variety of rodents including squirrels and marmots, rats are indicted in the Black Death because of their tendency to nest around humans and to stowaway on ships. The black rat (Rattus rattus) in particular was the culprit.

Around 1347, widespread to Asia, The Black Death started scattering throughout Europe. Over the time of three years, the infection killed one third of the people in Europe with around twenty-five million of the population were dead.
